About Me
Hi my name is Sandy , I am a wife , mother and grandmother. I have always had a genuine love for all animals , so much so has a child my Dad was always hesitant to give me to much pocket money , why?,  because he knew the first thing I would do would be to jump on the next bus to town to see which pet I could afford  to buy that day from the local market (this was back when markets used to sell domestic pets such as kittens, puppies , rabbits , guinea pigs ....) I vividly remember one time buying a Tortoise on one of my market pet shopping sprees , however!  after buying this little chap I started to get cold feet as I began to visualize in my mind the expression on Dads face as he looked upon the latest addition to our family. Nerves got the better of me as I thought about how am I going to explain my way out of this one!, "I know" I thought to myself I could say the Tortoise had just been left out in the street! I would then try to put on an innocent looking face that I hoped would express WOW! who left that there! (I know forgive me lol , I must have been about 12 at the time). Fortunately for me (and Tortie now come to think of it all these years later)  our road was quiet , so carefully positioning my little armour plated friend outside our front door  I briskly knocked then raced around to the back door just in time to see  Dad  answering that knock! at the front door. Of course there was no one there except Tortie and yes of course Dad knew I was behind it , but the good news was Tortie was allowed to stay!. That obviously was quite a number of years ago now, but my love and care for animals remains the same.  At this stage in my life my children are grown and have families of their own , sooooo, hopefully  I should have a little more me time now, so this is why I decided to become an occasional hobby breeder of Continental Giant Rabbits. A little while ago our rabbit named Lewis passed on from old age , I know you can never replace any pet ,  they are all individuals with their own  personalities , and I know Lewis had a good life , he was very much loved  and I missed  him so much when he passed on and that I started looking for another rabbit  to care for. While doing a search I came across the Continental Giant Breed Rabbit, and that was it, I was hooked,  I have found them to be such gentle  inquisitive creatures and  www.giantbunnieshomestead.com are pleased to announce our very first litter arrived April 2009.

Hi Sandy
I used to be exactly the same when i was a kid....I bought a kitten and got my friend to put it in a box and give it to me as a birthday present.. My mum and dad where furious but the kitten won them round.

Good luck with the breeding
